We had a great experience in the nicely updated budget queen room. The bed was large and comfortable, and the electronic key card, seating area, and writing desk were important for us. The service was excellent throughout our stay, and the free wifi was a bonus.

Lovely old and absolutely great hotel managed by fairly friendly people. "It was compact, well-appointed and with a bathroom. "The location was central, very close to grocery store and waterfront, the slope, and all eateries.

The room was clean and had a nice shower and sink. The Wi-Fi connection was reliable and the cable TV was a nice addition. The location of the Pioneer Guest House was great, close to the harbour and downtown core. The large modern kitchen and nearby grocery store made it convenient to cook our own meals. The common room with a library and guitar added to the cozy atmosphere. I had a pleasant stay at Pioneer Guest House and would highly recommend it.

The best aspects of my xmas stay were the comfortable beds and the shared kitchen. The location was also very convenient as it was close to shopping and restaurants. Another advantage was the possibility to get a discount on meals at some of the nearby restaurants.
The worst aspects of my xmas stay were the lack of privacy in the dormitory room and the absence of hot water during my stay. Despite their efforts to accommodate by offering an alternative shower facility, it was still inconvenient.
